Dr. Ana Borota is a computational chemist whose research centers on in silico approaches for drug discovery and agrochemistry. She works at the “Coriolan Drăgulescu” Institute of Chemistry of the Romanian Academy, where she leads a research theme on modeling the potency and toxicity of drugs and agrochemicals based on chemical-biological interactions and applies molecular modeling, molecular dynamics, virtual screening, docking, QSAR and related cheminformatics methods. Her biomedical work focuses on understanding molecular mechanisms underlying human disease, while her agrochemical studies address the design and optimization of bioactive compounds relevant to pest and weed control.
She has contributed as a team member to national and international research projects, including the development of the DrugCentral database within a U.S.-funded collaboration, and she is a full member of The Scientific Research Honor Society Sigma Xi (USA).
